The Edwardian Hotel is built in 1906. Situated in the heart of Geraldine, our complex is a focal point for travelers and town folk alike. A welcome stop on the inland scenic route, it is the gateway to the central South Island and the Southern Region Lakes.

Geraldine is a popular stopping point on the Scenic Route

Geraldine is a country village, on the Central South Island scenic route. It is approximately 1hr 30mins from Christchurch Airport. Locality Details arehere.

The area has all types of farming. Sheep, cattle, deer in the high country and on the lower land, dairy and fruit crops. Geraldine is blessed with many beautiful spots to view the southern alps and the rolling hills of the Geraldine Downs. The town holds several events each year, from the Country Music Festival held in January to the very popular Arts & Plants , held in November, which displays the beautiful gardens heritage of the town and surrounding district .

During the Arts and Plants Festival our local arts and and craft people bring their wares to town for display (and sale)on the Friday (Boulevard Day). Geraldine is an ideal stop for skiers heading to Mt Dobson (1 hour), Lake Tekapo (1 hour 15mins) and Mt Hutt (1 hour 15mins)

There are many forest walks in the Talbot Forest Scenic Reserve just 1 km from the town centre
